It is my intent to contribute a few missing pieces of information on the atrocity of the abortion holocaust. It is shocking but it is meant to be shocking. But those few missing pieces of information are horrifying.
Dilation and Extraction (D&X): "Partial Birth abortion"

Laminaria (a type of seaweed that expands when moist) is used to dilate the cervix over a two-day period. On the third day, the membranes are ruptured, and an ultrasound is used to locate the lower extremities. The doctor then uses large forceps to grasp a leg, and pull it down into the vagina. After the body is delivered, the skull is lodged at the cervical opening. The doctor makes an incision in the base of the child's skulland suctions the baby's brain out. This technique may be safer than 'D&E' abortion because the baby is not dismembered in the uterus, however, damage may occur due to extensive stretching of the cervix during the procedure.
The above diagrams show how a partial birth abortion is done. Where I live they can be done right up to the baby's due date. In fact, ANY type of abortion can be done up to the baby's due date.
(Note: Clinton vetoed the ban on Partial birth abortion for the SECOND time on October 10th 1997, even with exceptions for the "mental" health of the mother)
saline abortion

This is injected into the amniotic fluid which surrounds the baby in your uterus. The doctor inserts a long needle into your abdomen until the tip of penetrates the uterus. Saline is a poisonous substance with eventually kills the baby, and prostaglandin causes the muscle tissue of the mother to push the baby out of the uterus. This procedure requires you to 'give birth' to a dead baby.
Suction Aspiration
This baby was MURDERED by suction abortion.
For this procedure you lie on your back with your feet in stirrups, and the doctor applies a shot of anesthetic to your cervix to reduce pain. Your cervical muscle is stretched with rods until the opening is wide enough to allow the abortion tools to pass into your uterus. Then the doctor guides the suction device through the cervix and into your unterus. A suction machine is used to pull the placenta and baby into parts small enough to pass out of your body through the tube.

Dilatation and curettage(D&C)

Because the bones of the baby are larger and stronger by this time, the doctor uses a medical instrument resembling pliers to pull the baby into smaller parts and removes those parts from your body through the cervix. This procedure requires that your cervix be opened wider than with 'Suction' or 'D&C' methods, and there is greater risk of harm to your reproductive organs.
Prostaglandin abortion

This form of abortion uses chemicals developed by the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co. which causes the uterus to contract intensely, delivering the developing baby. The contractions are more violent than normal, natural contractions, so the unborn baby is frequently killed by them -- some have even been decapitated. Many, babies often have been born alive using this form of abortion. In this case the baby is either smothered,drowned or left to die a slow PAINFUL death.

Abortion Risks:
HEMORRHAGE
Heavy bleeding during or after an abortion can even require transfusions, and occasionally a second curettage procedure or hysterectomy.
INFECTION
The uterus is susceptible to infection, especially if not all the fetal parts are removed or you have Chlamydia or Gonorrhea. Symptoms are pain and fever. Untreated infections can result in infertility.
PERFORATION
Since the doctor is operating by touch alone, sometimes the tools of abortion are accidentally pushed through the wall of the uterus. Major surgery may be required.
EFFECTS ON LATER PREGNANCIES
Damage to the cervix may result in the early loss of a later wanted pregnancy. The risk of miscarriage is higher with two or more abortions. The risk of tubal pregnancies is also increased.
BREAST CANCER
Recent studies prove that your risk of getting breast cancer is greatly increase after an abortion, especially if you are aborting your first pregnancy.
EMOTIONAL STRESS
